Something that I have in every room of the house!
There are still SO many great books out there I have on my wish-list. This current stack is a mixture of re-reads and to-be-read :
+ The Unsayable – Annie Rogers
+ What is Narrative Therapy? – Alice Morgan
+ A Shining Affliction – Annie Rogers
+ The Body Never Lies – Alice Miller
+ Cancer & the New Biology of Water
+ Vaccines, Autoimmunity & the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness
(All 3 Thomas Cowan)
+ Intelligence in the Flesh – Guy Claxton
+ Strange Situation – Bethany Saltman
+ Scared Sick: The Role of Childhood Trauma in Adult Disease – Robin Karr Morse
I’m about to start Scared Sick… “The first years of human life are more important than we ever realized. In Scared Sick, Robin Karr-Morse connects psychology, neurobiology, endocrinology, immunology, and genetics to demonstrate how chronic fear in infancy and early childhood – when we are most helpless – lies at the root of common diseases in adulthood.”
This finding re trauma in very early infancy is showing up repeatedly in contemporary science & research. Imagine the impact on humanity if we educated everyone on how this contributes to adult health & disease?
What are you reading right now? Has anything you’ve read recently made an impact? I’d love to know!
